Description
This quick permit is to install new duct detectors and a pull station and connect them to the existing fire alarm system. This permit does not include notification. There are no written comments. Associated building permit: BLD09-01272 (REI - Mechanical Unit Replacement) Permit is to replace old roof top mechanical units and install additional structural support. Approval per approved plans on file and attached structural engineering. Work to include: installation of new ducts and diffusers, replacement of 5 roof top mechanical units, electrical upgrades, installation of new structural reinforcement, and installation of additional gas piping. This building is fully fire sprinklered any alterations or modifications to the sprinkler system WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE PERMIT and shall be installed per NFPA #13 as regulated by the fire department. This permit will require the new smoke detection system to be interconnected with the existing alarm system and an alarm permit form Boise City Fire Dept. **TLW**

Permit finaled. The duct smoke detectors have been removed from the supply side of the hvac units by the mechanical contractor and the duct smoke detectors have been removed off of the hvac unit located in northeast corner of the building. This unit was rated at 1850cfm per the mechanical contractor.

The hvac unit in the northeast corner of the building has two duct smoke detectors that are not connected to the existing fire alarm system as required per IFC 907.12. There is also a hvac unit located in the center of the building that has a duct smoke detector located on the supply side that is not connected to the existing fire alarm system as per IFC 907.12. The remaining units tested ok for shutdown and reported to the central station. A re-inspection fee is being added for the upcoming fourth inspection.

I left a message with the fire alarm contractor at 12:30 that I was headed towards the project site for the inspection. I left at 1:00 after no contact other than the store manager. No inspection was performed.
