Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of adding and relocating sprinklers to accommodate new wall and ceiling configuration for a new tenant improvement. The existing system is a 2 ½"x2 ½"x1 ½" Grid. There is a separate permit (FIR09-00616) for modifying the fire protection around a new fire barrier at the northern edge of this space. The existing 6" UDG supplies a 4" wet system and a 3" dry system. The existing backflow preventer is reported as a 4" Febco 850. There is an existing 4" wall PIV, FDC, and Bell. Upright sprinklers are installed throughout the space and are required due to wood truss construction.

(TIFFANY'S SCRAPBOOKING) Remodel for a 10,377 sq. ft. space in existing building per approved plans. Work to include construction of new interior non-bearing wall to create two scrapbooking work rooms, a storage area and modify corridor at electrical room; upgrade electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler and alarm system to meet tenant needs and comply with adopted codes and ordinances; interior finishes and millwork. A portion of the new service counter is to be accessible. This permit being done in conjunction with a "VANILLA" permit, BLD09-01839 and will be attached to the same set of plans. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase. The building exists as over allowable area. There is an alternate approval on file concerning breaking the building up into two separate fire areas and an Upgrade Agreement on file concerning fixing some sagging insulation and the paper backing on the insulation over a three-year period. Copy of agreement attached to plans and also attached to BLD09-01840 for tracking agreement time frames.

Per the approved plans the maximum head spacing as hydraulically calculated is 112 sq. ft. As installed in the field the pendant heads are spaced up to 126 sq. ft. and in some locations the pendant even exceed 15'-0" apart.. I spoke with John at Commercial FIre and with Tim Frost in the office about this issue.
