1/22/10 PLAN MODIFICATION
This plan modification is to include the monitoring for three duct detectors.

This fire alarm permit is to provide sprinkler monitoring for a new shell building. Included in this permit scope is sprinkler monitoring, a pull station, a voluntary smoke detector above the panel, and a voluntary weatherproof horn/strobe on the exterior of the riser room. HVAC has not been shown on the plans, therefore duct detectors are not part of this permit scope.

The shell will include the construction of a fire riser room and mechanical room. This building is fully fire sprinkled. The sprinklers are used for area increase and S-1 Occupancy fire area. This is shell permit only and no occupancy is allowed under this permit. A separate tenant improvement permit is required to finish this building for occupancy. The plumbing, mechanical and electrical work shown on the approved plans are part of the shell construction. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. JCM

After testing all of the devices the monitoring station was contacted and they stated that the account was set up as test only which ment the signals were not correct, building address and call list had not been set up yet. The testing will need to be redone and the signals reverified. All of the devices reported correctly to the fire alarm panel. All three of the duct smoke detectors had been installed backwards and were correctly installed and tested as I waited.

While onsite performing job related fire sprinkler inspection, noticed the fire alarm vendor had completed installation of fire alarm system without approved plans. Plans are currently under review in the PDS office. NOTE to plans examiner: Work completed without permit.
