This fire alarm permit is to provide notification in the waiting area, new hallways created, and interview counters in a new tenant improvement. Also included in this permit scope is the relocation of a pull station in the new hallway and relocation or possible removal of another pull station in the Northeast portion of the waiting area. Notification devices are to be connected to the existing NAC panel located in Vestibule 175.
NOTE TO INSPECTORS: The Benefits Professionals 196 area is not included in this scope of work. A separate fire permit shall be required to accommodate relocating horns etc due to new offices and walls in order to maintain audibility requirements in this area.

Associated building permit: BLD09-00949 (DEPT OF HEALTH & WELFARE) (SOUTH BLDG) (INTERIOR NON-STRUCTURAL DEMO) This building is fire sprinklered for building area increase. To perform interior nonstructural demolition work within a 73,639 square foot building in preparation for new tenant improvement work that will be performed under permit BLD09-00945. Several interior nonbearing partitions, doors, and finishes will be removed. No bearing and/or shear walls are allowed to be removed. New work is NOT allowed under this permit. Demolition of any structural element of this building is NOT allowed under this permit. This permit does NOT establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any tenant. The fire sprinkler system and the fire alarm system shall be maintained functional as required by the Fire Department. The demolition of any element of these systems is NOT allowed without the express approval of the Fire Department. In conjunction with the tenant improvement work under permit BLD09-00945, the fire sprinkler system will be required to be upgraded to comply with current standards, including quick-response sprinklers, in order to avoid enclosed 1-hr fire-resistance-rated corridors. Elements of the existing fire sprinkler system that already comply with current standards may remain without upgrade. **CJW**
