Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of adding sprinklers to a new over build area and part of a canopy. A portion of the canopy is existing and already has fire protection. The intention is for the entire canopy to have fire protection. Combustibles are NOT to be stored or handled below the canopy due to insufficient density. Therefore, sidewalk sales are not permitted. There will be above and below protection on the new portion of the canopy.

(PETSMART TENANT IMPROVEMENT) This building is required to be fire sprinklered for building area increase. To construct interior tenant improvements within a new building shell for a pet store. This tenant space will be used for retail sales, pet salon, pet medical treatment, and pet boarding. The building shell was constructed under permit BLD09-01007. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior doors, and interior windows, 2 restrooms accessible to the disabled, suspended acoustical ceilings, millwork, and finishes. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. A separate permit is required for high-rack storage. **CJW**

Permit will be ready to final when a fire alarm permit has been submitted for the new butterfly valve to be connected to the existing fire alarm system. I let the ken with American Fire and the PetsMart job superintendant that I would not final their permits until a fire alarm permit had been issued for this additional valve. This is due to the canopy permit, which this valve controls, being associated with the PetsMart permit.

The sprinkler piping rough-in is ok except for the lag bolts on the earthquake bracing attachments need to be changed to through bolts with the correct length and blocking as discussed. Could not make it back for a re-inspection/cover approval so Ken is scheduling for tomorrow morning.
