Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of a new wet type sprinkler system to protect a new building. The protection is based on Ordinary Hazard Group II. Therefore, there shall be NO storage above 12’ and NO plastic or tire storage above 5’ (See NFPA 13 for complete details on permitted storage). The Fire Plan review indicates that there is to be rack storage. The fire sprinkler plans do not indicate rack storage. The storage on the racks must comply with the above. In addition, any rack storage >8’ will require a separate permit. The system is two connected grids of 4”x2½”x2” and 2½”x2”x1¼”. The system will be supplied by new 6” C-900 underground approximately 260’± long will all necessary fittings and thrust blocks through a 4” backflow preventer, wall piv and riser. The underground is under permit FIR10-00542

Plan Mod 1 Scope:
A portion of the building was not accurately represented in the initial submittal. The initial submittal indicated that the entire space above the ceiling was noncombustible. However, based on actual field installation this was incorrect. Part of the space above the ceiling is noncombustible and part of the space IS combustible. New drawings were provided showing upright sprinklers in the combustible space. In addition, the false front of the building is combustible and unless an alternate method is utilized, sprinklers will be required. Only the ballooned areas were reviewed in this submittal.

Building Department Scope:

Ada County Paramedics Warehouse Maintenance and Repair Facility - To construct a new 7,410 square foot, one story vehicle maintenance, warehouse and office building. This building is constructed of masonry and wood framed exterior and interior walls and steel joist with metal roof deck. This permit also includes related site improvements. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. JCM

There were no city approved plans on site to perform an inspection. Per the sprinkler fitter the plans do not show the combustible construction or any of the upright sprinkler protection that the fitter has added. I let the fitter know that resubmittals of the plans will be required. We discussed the possible obstruction to upright sprinkler discharge and the associated "three times rule". No inspection was performed.
