This fire alarm permit is to provide a new fire alarm panel to monitor a new sprinkler system in an existing building. This permit scope includes an annunciator panel, pull station, sprinkler system monitoring, and HVAC shutdown/monitoring.

Associated building permit: BLD10-00987 Volkswagen Dealership - (Remodel & Addition) - To remodel and add onto an existing 10,065 square foot, two story, masonry and wood framed automobile dealership building. To convert the service area, on the north side of the building, to a new Prep Area #114 and enlarged Parts Area #113. To relocate the employee restroom and locker room; to convert the two first floor offices to a lounge area; to demo and remove the entry canopy and to remove a 500 sq. ft. showroom display area on the south side of the building. To construct a new 115 sq. ft. entry vestibule and to construct a new 5,370 sq. ft., one story, Service Area addition on the west side of the building. To refurbish the 2,530 sq. ft. second floor, including relocating and constructing a new interior stairway and relocating and installing a new exterior egress stairway, including a new corridor leading to the exterior stairway. This permit also includes related site improvements. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. JCM

Forrest/Troy, They want to do a temp occupancy on the Showroom side of the original building. The only part of the fire alarm install not complete is the (2) duct detectors. They have not changed out the HVAC units yet, so the duct detectors are not operational. Please call me and let me know if this will work. A temporary occupancy was given with Jennifer's permission until the existing building scope of work is complete. The scope of work in the new building is completed at this time. Signs directing the fire dept to the fire alarm panel location are to be maintained.

The fire alarm panel is using the same phone lines for both phone line 1 and phone line 2 outputs. Tried to test the flow switch and it exceed the maximum 90 second for alarm. Testing was stopped and will need to be rescheduled. Also the remote annunciator needs to be permanantly mounted or signage provided as discussed to direct the responding fire dept personnel to the FACP location in the second floor storage room.
