Description |
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of separating one system into two systems. The system is being separated at the property line. A new 6” underground was installed under FIR10-00502 to supply the separate system. The portion of the existing system with the new supply is two stories. The basement has a 3” main with telescoping branch piping. The first floor has a 3”x3”x1¼" grid. The basement will be used for office per a new owner’s certificate and email from the designer.
Building Department Scope:
This building is fire sprinklered to allow the open basement and for fire area reasons. To remodel an existing building for a new office tenant (7,104 square foot 1st story and 7,141 square foot basement). Work is to include two restrooms accessible to the disabled, interior nonbearing walls, upgrades to the exterior ramp, and a high/low drinking fountain accessible to the disabled. The access to an existing freight elevator on both the basement and first story levels will be walled up. The basement is approved for storage only. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. A new fire sprinkler service will be provided to serve the existing fire sprinkler system that is currently served through the building on the South, across a property line. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. As an office occupancy, quick-response heads are required throughout the 1st story. **CJW**
