The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of adding and relocating sprinklers to accommodate new wall and ceiling configuration. The existing system is a 3”x2½”x1½” grid with 6” underground. The reference plans indicate that the original system was installed in 1986.


Building Department Scope:

Permit is to remodel an existing 4,852 square foot office space to be reduced to 2,209 square feet for this tenant. The left over 2,643 square feet is having restrooms stubbed in; however, it is not being reviewed for code compliance. This building is fully fire sprinklered for unlimited area. Approval is contingent upon adhering to the approved plans on file. Work to include: [installation / demolition of interior partition walls to create three offices, an orientation room, an open office area, and an accounting area, and enlarge the restrooms], installation of a new hi/low drinking fountain, installation of new light switching, installation of new accessible sales and service counter (if applicable), installation of new doors / accessible hardware, and finishes in compliance with chapter 8 of the 2009 IBC. This building is fully Fire Sprinklered with an approved Fire Alarm system. Any alterations or modifications to the buildings Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm system WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE PERMIT and shall be installed per NFPA 13 & NFPA 72 as regulated by the Boise Fire Department.**TLW**

The sprinkler piping is ok to cover. But it appears several of the upright sprinklers are overspaced due to the new wall and an existing draft stop. Jim is going to provide verification that the new upright sprinkler spacing is adequate and will either remove the dry wall or add additional upright heads.
