A model 5230 remote annunciator has been installed on the face of the panel so that alarm functions are provided per IFC 906. After starting the testing it was found that the manual pull station when put in the normal "off alarm" condition the panel would self restore which is not allowed. Per NFPA 72 - 23.8.2.9 the panel can only be reset at the panel itself, not at this initiating device. Also in the course of researching this I was notified by the fire alarm panel manufacture that this panel is not listed for stand alone applications but is listed as a dialer. A panel needs to be installed that meets the intended application and this shall be submitted to the city for review as a plan modification.

There is no audible or visual annunciation of an alarm condition at the fire alarm panel as required by IFC 906. Burl is going to install a remote annunciator at the panel and re-inspect for this afternoon.
