The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of adding and relocating sprinklers on two systems due to new wall and ceiling configuration. One system is a preaction system with electric detection. The other system is a wet system. The new addition has above and below protection. Both systems are tree type systems. A 6” underground supply feeds a 2½” backflow preventer. The wet system has a 2½” riser and the preaction system has a 1½” riser with a 2” main.
Building Department Scope:
(INTERMOUNTAIN MEDICAL IMAGING - ADDITION AND REMODEL) (DRH11-00158) This building has a fire sprinkler system. To construct a 312 square foot 1 story addition on the West end of an existing 6,518 square foot building and to construct a new 102 square foot canopy next to the addition. After the addition and canopy, this building will have a total floor area of about 6,932 square feet. The interior of the building will also be remodeled. For the addition, work is to include concrete footings, concrete foundations, 2x8 LSL stud walls, wood shear walls, TJI roof joists, wood roof deck, foam plastic roof insulation, and a single ply membrane roof covering. For the remodel, work is to include concrete footings, steel columns, steel beams, interior nonbearing walls, a new MRI with supporting equipment and shielding, a dressing room accessible to the disabled, millwork, and finishes. All 4 restrooms are required to be maintained accessible to the disabled. Epoxy anchors, expansion anchors, welding, high-strength bolts, and the Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) all require Special Inspection. Permit BLD11-02202 was issued to enlarge an opening in the East wall and permit BLD11-02365 was issued to perform interior nonstructural demolition. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
