The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of changing an antifreeze system to a dry system in the front canopy. Adding pendent sprinklers for a new dressing room area. Adding sprinklers to a new office area in the back of the store. Adding sprinklers around a new wall separating the sales area from the stock area. Adding sprinklers to a new soffit that surrounds the sales area. The existing system has a 8” riser. 6” feed main and a 6”x4”x2” grid. The existing system was apparently designed for a .35/2000 with large orifice 286° sprinklers.
Contractor’s Note: Scope of Work
The fire protection scope of work does not seem to correlate with the building department scope of work. This review is based on the scope of work indicated in the fire sprinkler application. The field inspector may approve the fire permit. However, the Certificate of Occupancy may be held and not granted until all fire protection work within the building department scope of work is verified. New drawings showing all the sprinklers within the building department scope of work are required to be submitted and reviewed if changes are necessary.
Building Department Scope:
(NORDSTROM RACK) Interior remodel of an existing 36,432 square foot retail tenant space in an existing 37,500 square foot building. The West wall is shared with Shape Up Outlets.The East wall is shared with Old Navy. Work to include: construct new interior non-structural wall partitions to create a new entry vestibule, men's & women's dressing rooms, tailor room, locker room, break room, mother's room, personnel offices, maintenance room, stock & storage rooms, men's & women's accessible restrooms, and merchandise sales areas; new casework for retail sales floor; install a new dual height (hi-lo) accessible drinking fountain; install a service sink; new suspended ceiling grid system installed per CISCA guidelines; related interior finishes in compliance with chapter 8 of the 2009 IBC; installation of new lighting; plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work. All work per the approved plans, attached plan review report, and all other reviewing agencies approvals. NOTE: "This building is fully Fire Sprinklered for building area increase and also has an approved Fire Alarm system. Any alterations or modifications to the buildings Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm system WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE PERMIT and shall be installed per NFPA 13 & NFPA 72 as regulated by the Boise Fire Department." A new Certificate of Occupancy with the new occupant load total is required to be obtained after all work has been inspected and approved and prior to tenant occupying this space. **SRZ**
