This fire alarm permit is to provide a new manual fire alarm system in a new building. The permit scope includes a standalone GSM Wireless communicator (i.e. no DACT), a manual pull station, smoke detectors above panels, smoke detectors for door holder release, in-duct detectors for f/s damper shutdown, sprinkler system monitoring, elevator recall and shunt trip functions (two elevators), and full notification.

Associated building permit: BLD11-01267 TRADITIONS AT BOISE LLC- Section A- Section 'A' (West Wing) to construct a four story 1-hour fire rated, wood frame, 52-unit, commercial apartment building of 25,296 sq. ft.(6412 s.f. - 1st fl / 6,497 s.f. - 2 thru 4th fl.). There are 12 units @742 s.f.; 4 @ 751 s.f.; 4 @ 553 s.f. and 12 @ 568 s.f... A 2-hour combination fire wall & Horizontal exit is being constructed between the West Wing and Center Core portion for allowable area compliance. This building is fully sprinkler W/ 13R system for allowable area increase, addition of 1-story and for occupancy use compliance; alarm with notification system; 1-hour exit corridors connecting the 2-hour stair enclosure and horizontal exit; and mechanical shaft assemblies are indicated as 2-hour rated. Each floor has one exit into a rated stair enclosure and 1 exit through a horizontal exit. All work to be in accordance with the reviewed plans, red-lined notes on plans and attached plan review comments & conditions of all provided plan reviews. Todays inspection was for the 3rd and 4th for Towers 1 and 2. The third floor fire/smoke damper smoke detector needs to be replaced and re-tested. Also rooms at the fire wall separation on both the third and fourth floors did not operate due to work being completed on the other side of the fire wall. These circuits need to be complete before a sign off for the third and fourth floor areas.

Todays inspection included reverification of the fire smoke damper activation and the west side elevator recall. Also incuded were EOL voltage verification for areas "A" and "B", first and second floor audio/visuals. To finish these this area I need the horns in rooms 215 and 220 repaired and test the separate notification circuits at the first and second floor fire wall in area "B".

Todays testing was for the first and second floor fire door smoke detectors in the west wing (area A). Both relays had to be replaced while I waited. The relay was also replaced at the smoke detector/smoke damper at the first floor, west elevator. The programing needs changes so that upon alarm silence the dampers do not open. Could not test the elevators since the reset key was not available.

Todays inspection verified the facp and nac panels. Also tested were the fire sprinkler interconnections Devices tested ok but several have different addresses and locations. The nac wireing includes 18 guage from the panel to the sync modules then back to the nac can then continues to the nac circuits with 12 guage wire. I will need to speak to plan review if this will be allow with EOL verification. The fire alarm system currently has multiple trouble and ground faults being displayed. Also no sprinkler head has been installed in the elevator equipment rooms. The heat detector can be deleted but the smoke will remain for alternate recall.
