Todays inspection was to finish out phase I. The CRAC units were tested and functioned/shutdown correctly. The induct detectors are being used for hvac unit shutdown and fire/smoke damper operation. The induct detectors can not be used for hvac unit shutdown due to the air flow exceeding the listed range of the detector. The induct detectors can not be used for the damper operation because they do not meet the requirements of IMC 607.3.3.2. After a discussion it appears the VESDA system may provide a solution for both issues by meeting the "total area coverage" option of IMC section 606 and 607. Whatever the solution, it needs to be approved by Boise City Plan Review.

To complete phase I the fire dampers and the hvac unit shutdown needs to be tested. Interconnections with the clean agent system and the pre-action system have been completed. Supervision of the NAC panels has been verified. Several strobes are overspaced and candella's mislabeled on the plans. Plans need to be submitted showing the phase 3 work.

Brian Anderson and I went over the fire alarm plans. Per redlined drawings as-builts are required due to the notification circuit. Some addressing has changed, NAC panel location has changed, the function of some modules has changed. Also per conversation with the fire alarm plan reviewer resubmittals are going to be required since the fire alarm permit scope of work does not match the building plans scope of work. Brian was going to check with his office on this.
