Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of changing all pendent sprinklers to quick response. A couple of new small branch lines are being added in the western portion of the drawing. Most of the sprinklers are being relocated to accommodate new wall and ceiling configuration. Three existing tenant spaces are being combined into one space. The existing system is designed as three small trees. A new occupancy permit is required.

FIELD INSPECTOR: The building department scope of work does not correlate with the scope of work indicated on the fire protection plans. Therefore, please, do not approve the certificate of occupancy until the entire sprinkler system within the building department scope of work has been inspected and approved. You may of course approve the fire permit for the scope of work shown on the fire protection drawings if it is acceptable.

Inspection was actually a conference on what is required to fix the insulation blocking the upright sprinkler heads. We went over the NFPA 13 obstruction charts.

Rough-in, for pendant sprinklers, for the most part is ok. Almost all of the upright sprinklers are blocked by hanging insulation. Also Mike and I found one location where upright heads are overspaced from an existing wall and some of the existing upright heads are blocked by duct work. These two items will need to be addressed prior to an approval for cover being given.
