Description
This quick permit is to provide notification, a new smoke detector, relocate and existing smoke detector, and add 2 heat detectors due to a remodel. See redlined plans. There are no written review comments. Approval is subject to field measurement of the EOL voltage drop. The voltage drop calculations are based on a 10% drop, therefore the minimum acceptable voltage is 21.6V with the AC power off. Any measurement below this voltage will be considered insufficient to run the NACs at the end of useful battery life of 20.4V (per UL 864, Standard for Control Units for Fire Signaling Systems). See NFPA 72 2010 Handbook 18.3.2.3 for further assistance with calculations. The installing contractor shall have available at final inspection a voltage meter and measure end of line voltages; witnessed by the field inspector. Associated building permit: BLD12-00295

Inspection passed. There was an existing AES panel installed by Alarmco. The technician called Mark S. with Alarmco and I spoke to him directly to get a verbal confirmation that the NETCON rating was at a 5. He also will be emailing me a scanned PDF of the written verification.
