This quick permit is to add two new notification devices to a new smoking area. New devices are to be added to existing NACs. There are no written review comments. Approval is subject to field measurement of the EOL voltage drop. The voltage drop calculations are based on a 10% drop, therefore the minimum acceptable voltage is 21.6V with the AC power off. Any measurement below this voltage will be considered insufficient to run the NACs at the end of useful battery life of 20.4V (per UL 864, Standard for Control Units for Fire Signaling Systems). See NFPA 72 2010 Handbook 18.3.2.3 for further assistance with calculations.The installing contractor shall have available at final inspection a voltage meter and measure end of line voltages; witnessed by the field inspector.
