The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protecting a restaurant with a new wet pipe system. The system is supplied through 4” underground, to a 2½” backflow preventer and riser. There is a remote 2½” FDC. The system is looped with varying pipe sizes. There is a small basement protected with one line of sprinklers.

Overhead hydro test passed. I noted that the fire dept connection has not been installed on the street side of the building. I spoke with Don and he is going to contact Tim Frost to verify an approved location for the fdc and the electric alarm bell.

Due to extensive routing modifications, swing joints and additional sprinkler heads plan modifications will be needed for this project. Don is going to provide verification the pipe straps and screws are listed for hanging the 2" mains. Siesmic restraints are required for the branchlines. There is wood at the top of the old fire place so sprinkler protection as per the plans will be required. There appears to be an addtional combustible concealed space near the kitchen that will need sprinkler protection.

Todays inspection was an approval to cover the underground supply piping and an approval for the underground supply piping hydro test. I let Don know that as-builts showing the two additional 4" elbows will be required at the end of the project.
