The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of a deluge 3% AFFF foam system for an existing type I aircraft hangar. There is also a supplemental foam hose system. The system is supply by a existing 250,000 Gal water storage tank, (3) existing 1500 Gpm @ 120 Psi pumps in parallel, (2) 1300 Gal bladder foam tanks (one primary and one back up) with 8” ratio controllers and 8” deluge valve. The foam concentrate line is actuated by a 2½” water powered ball valve. The compound 6”x4”x4”x 2½” grid is supplied by an 8” & 6” feed main. There is also column protection.

Note: There are two existing foam systems off the same header.

There is no direct building permit for this project. The project is required due to BLD13-02244 creating one large building. Please, see below.

Western Aircraft - Shop and Office Addition - To construct an 11,465 square foot, two story, pre-engineered metal building shop, storage and office building addition between two existing aircraft hangars. This will create one large building with a three-hour firewall separating the new addition from the north existing hangar, creating separate buildings for allowable area and allowed nonseparated uses. This building is fully fire sprinklered. The sprinklers are used for area increase. This permit also includes related site improvements. All construction per the approved plans attached comment list. See the city approved plans for the sheets marked "ok" where the rough-in has passed. Additional fittings and elevation change needs to be addressed as well as one missing EQ brace. A "Big A**" Ceiling fan is being installed that may be an issue with sprinkler discharge.
