The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of a two level warehouse providing self-storage. Each level has a floor control valve and a gridded design. The piping has 3” mains and 1 ¼” lines. This systems are designed for Ordinary Hazard II.

The underground piping is under permit FIR15-00522

Contractor’s Note:
The building permit has not been issued at this time. The building department may determine that changes are required to the building plans in order to meet code. The changes may affect the sprinkler system. The sprinkler contractor will be obligated to make all necessary changes that may be required. Therefore, if the sprinkler contractor chooses to proceed without an issued building permit, they will do so on their own cognizance. This note does not constitute an early start agreement.

(U-HAUL CLIMATE CONTROL STORAGE BUILDING) Permit to construct a new 37,616 square foot two-story climate controlled storage building and related site improvements. Approval contingent upon adhering to the approved plans on file, Planning Approvals and engineering. Work to include: construction of new foundation, new accessible parking, new accessible route, [construction of a tilt up concrete first floor, steel pan deck, and metal building second floor and roof structure], new electrical, new mechanical, new plumbing, and interior finishes in compliance with chapter 8 of the 2012 IBC. This building will be fully Fire Sprinklered with an approved Fire Alarm system per NFPA 13 & NFPA 72 as regulated by the Boise Fire Department. **TLW**

The overhead hydro tests passed. The forward flush passed. Interior corrections have been made. Need pressure relief valves, signage on bell and alarm interconnects for a final.

Rough-in inspection for overhead fire sprinkler piping complete. Items that will be repaired before final inspection will be the addition of a 286 degree fire sprinkler head on level 1, southeast corridor next to ceiling mount heater unit, heads are overspaced in this area. Multiple fire sprinkler heads on the south fire sprinkler branchline are to close to the metal studs, branchline will be shifted to get sprinkler heads in compliance for spacing from the metal studs. Storage unit on level 2, behind elevator has a fire sprinkler head spaced to far off of wall, head will be relocated to correct spacing issue. All items can be checked during final inspection to verify completion.

Don brought up questions on the use of sammys in the bottom of z-purlins. I deferred him to Tim Frost who deferred him to the manufacture for approval of the hanging method.
