The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of a NFPA 13R system for a four level apartment building. There floor level control valves in a valve house. The system is supplied by 2” underground through a 2” backflow preventer to 1 ½” riser. The system piping is 1” CPVC.

There are 2 manual 4” standpipes. The standpipes are a deferred submittal

Note: To achieve 500 Gpm @ 100 Psi a the top most standpipe outlets the fire apparatus is required to supply 505 Gpm @ 128 Psi

(THE KENSINGTON APARTMENTS - BUILDING O) The drawings are filed under BLD15-01107 in ePlanReview. The NFPA 13-R fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and for story increase. To construct a 19,568 square foot four story apartment building (5,243 sq. ft. 1st story with four 2.c units, 5,192 sq. ft. 2nd story with four 2.c units, 5,192 sq. ft. 3rd story with four 2.c units, and 3,941 sq. ft. 4th story with four 1.d units). All ground floor units are required to comply as Type B dwelling units. No elevator is provided in this building. Work is to include concrete footings, concrete foundations, concrete slabs on grade, wood stud bearing walls, wood stud shear walls, fiberglass shingles, fiber-cement board siding, manufactured stone veneer, 1-hr dwelling unit separations, .5-hr minimum fire-resistance-rated corridors with 20 minute smoke- and draft-control doors, exterior exit stairways fire rated like the corridor, steel stairways with concrete treads, interior nonbearing walls, millwork, and finishes. Special Inspection is required for soils and for concrete. The roof truss design is a deferred submittal item. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13-R and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**

Partial final fire spinkler inspection passed/complete. Each level of the building has fire sprinkler piping that crosses the breezeway, an approved method of keeping the pipe from freezing needs to be installed and inspected before final inspection can be completed. Fire sprinkler inspection is complete for remainder of building. TCO authorized for 60 days per conversation with Scott Arellano.

200 psi hydrostatic test complete for overhead fire sprinkler piping for all levels. Rough to cover inspection complete for overhead fire sprinkler piping on 1st and 2nd level, 1st and 2nd level approved for cover with exception to piping that is ran through breeze-way, this piping cannot be covered until proper freeze protection is installed and inspected. Partial cover approved for 3rd level fire sprinkler piping, fire sprinkler piping that is not in attic spaces approved for cover with exception to breeze-way piping. Fire sprinkler piping in attic spaces on 3rd level and 4th level cannot be covered until tenting inspection is completed and approved. Fire sprinkler piping crosses the entry corridor on each level, these area's cannot be covered until proper heating/ventilation is provided to keep fire sprinkler piping from freezing through the breeze-way (As addressed and stated on city approved drawings)

Underground hydrostatic test failed, contractor had glued plastic fitting come apart during test. Contractor will reschedule inspection after repair is made.
