Not ready for final yet but we did test two of the three fire smoke dampers and the dry pipe system interconnects. Still waiting on plan modifications, elevator and fire doors.

For todays inspection I witnessed the corrections for the notification devices and verified sync. and that all notification devices were functional. No initiating devices have been tested. Not all access has been provided for the fire/smoke dampers and not all of the fire sprinkler devices have been connected and pre-tested yet.

We set off the alarms and it mistakenly set off the alarms and shunted the elevator in the ajoining building. Testing was stopped and agreed to reschedule for tomorrow morning.

Todays inspection was an initial walk through. I noted that there are two missing horn/strobes in the basement (and a room), one strobe in the basement has been set at 110cd instead of 75cd as shown on the plans, first floor horn/strobes in the south building are incorrectly set at 75cd instead of 15cd, the south building second floor horn/strobe is located too far from the end of the corridor, not all of the fire/smoke dampers have been provided access for verification of correct closure, none of the elevator fire doors are installed, need map, basement manual pull station is mounted too high. We set off the horn, strobes and found that nothing is sync'ing as required by NFPA 72. As-builts are needed showing the changes and will need to be approved by the engineer of record. No actual testing of devices was performed at this time.
