INSTALL NEW PENDENT AND UPRIGHT SPRINKLER HEADS TO THE NEW WALL ANC CEILING LAYOUT.
[BLD15-03403] - The fire sprinkler system is used to substitute for 1-hr fire-resistance-rated construction of the building. To prepare a 598 square foot basement room for occupancy as a drinking/dining assembly room for the public. It was approved previously for storage. A 407 square foot storage area and egress hallway from the assembly room will also be finished under this permit. Work is to include millwork and finishes. Mechanical work to provide adequate ventilation will be done in conjunction with the work approved under this permit. Shell work to create a code compliant egress path from the 598 square foot basement assembly room leading to an existing enclosed 1-hr exit stairway from the basement was done under permit BLD15-03345. Structural work done under that permit included new beams, lengthening an existing beam, placing concrete footings, placing concrete retaining walls, and installing new steel lintels with steel jambs at new openings in existing masonry bearing walls. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
