The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of Building #2 only. The five level building is protected per NFPA 13. The bottom level is a parking garage. The remaining levels are residential. The 6” underground will supply a 6” backflow preventer and 6” header. There is a dry system for the basement and a wet system for the remainder of the floors. There are two wet standpipes. One standpipe is being used as a combination riser for the floor control valves.

The underground piping is under permit FIR16-00473

• This building is NOT considered a high rise.
• This building is over 30’ and therefore, requires standpipes in all required stairwells.
• This building does use the special City of Boise ordinance and therefore NFPA 13 system is required.
• Exposed piping is steel. Concealed branch line piping on floors 2-5 is CPVC, the mains are steel.

[BLD16-01059] - (Building #2) Permit to construct a new 123,212 square foot (5) story apartment building. First floor foundation and concrete podium permit submitted under BLD15-04486. Each floor is approximately 24,405 square feet. Approval contingent upon adhering to the approved plans on file and attached engineering. This building is fully fire sprinklered with an NFPA 13 system to comply with special provisions of section 510.2 and area increase. Scope of work includes: interior finish of the first floor, construction of wood frame 4 story building on top of the previously approved podium, installation of interior non-bearing walls and bearing walls to create 80 individual units, new plumbing, new electrical, new mechanical, new insulation, new windows, new doors, and interior finishes in compliance with Chapter 8 of the 2012 IBC. This building will be sprinklered with a fully compliant NFPA 13 system to comply with special provisions of section 510.2 and area increase. **TLW**

1. Room 201 has exposed CPVC in water heater room. Head to close to ceiling fan.
2. Head in corridor between rooms 205 & 207 needs to be changed to an intermidate temperature, head is within 12 inches of heat register.
4. Room 213 has head to low in bathroom, same head is missing escutcheon.
5. Rooms 209, 214, 216, 220, 306, 309, and 504 has escutcheons missing.
8. Rooms 205, 219, 301, 414, 507, 516, and 519 has sprinkler heads to close to ceiling fans.
9. All exposed CPVC needs to be covered by sheetrock.

Corrections have been made in rooms where too many heads were installed of off 1 inch pipe (see city approved drawings where rooms were noted with yellow highlighter and red ink indicating no cover) Rooms that were noted are approved for cover. North side of elevator lobby level 5 has been inspected, piping cannot be covered until an inspection has been performed to verify that there is a clear pocket between the sheetrock and overhead fire sprinkler piping/insulation for freeze prevention.
