The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of changing all sprinklers in the space to quick response type per IFC requirements.

• The building shell is under permit BLD17-01449

The fire sprinkler system is used for unlimited area of the building AND to allow 3-hr fire barrier walls in lieu of fire walls. The fire sprinkler system is NOT allowed to be used for building area increase for A Occupancies. To do tenant improvement work inside a 12,633 square foot tenant space for a new church. This tenant space was created under shell permit BLD17-01449. Work is to include a coffee bar, coffee preparation equipment, a gypsum board soffit, interior nonbearing walls, interior doors, a shear wall at the edge of an existing mezzanine where a portion of the mezzanine was removed, structural upgrades to the remaining mezzanine diaphragm in the adjacent space, suspended acoustical ceiling, millwork, and finishes. A new 30.67 foot wide opening and a new 6.33 foot wide opening will be created in an existing interior masonry bearing wall. Work is to include expanded concrete footings, steel columns, steel beam, and steel headers and jambs. Special Inspection is required for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete and for welding. Some building shell work was done under permit BLD17-01449. Work included structural modifications to the roof (beams and joists) to support new roof top HVAC equipment, new openings in the North exterior masonry bearing wall with a new 2-hr steel beam or lintel supported by new 2-hr steel columns or jambs and expanded concrete footings, new storefront glazing and entrance doors, 3-hr fire barrier walls per the 2012 IEBC in lieu of fire walls to create separate buildings, 3-hr exit doors in the fire barrier wall, interior nonbearing walls, and 2 toilet rooms accessible to the disabled. Modular stage, modular ramp, modular sound room, and modular stairways, are deferred submittal items and are required to be reviewed and approved before installation. This permit is intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for this tenant. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
