The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protecting an existing building using NFPA 13. The system has a 6” riser and 4”x 2 ½”x 1 ½” grid. The office area has above and below protection. Although the occupancy is light hazard the system has been designed as Ordinary Hazard 2 to accommodate possible future retail use.

The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for fire area. Interior nonstructural demolition work was done under permit BLD17-04501. To convert a former bowling alley to an 20,263 square foot indoor roller skating rink facility. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, two multi-user toilet rooms upgraded to be accessible to the disabled, a reinforced concrete ramp accessible to the disabled as an accessible route and using geofoam as a filler, a reinforced concrete ramp used for egress and using geofoam as a filler but not necessarily complying as an accessible means of egress, reinforced concrete steps, new roof top HVAC units installed directly above existing glulam girders, floor coverings, millwork, and interior wall finishes. Cooking operations that create grease laden vapors are not allowed within this building. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
