Original building occupancy use group was assigned as "B", Classrooms for hospital patients. Installation of Locks on exit system doors to building exterior in order to control patients requires the building to comply with and be reclassified as an Occupancy Use Group "I3, Condition 2", under the 2000 IBC and Letter of Agreement on File between PDS, FD & Facility Representatives. Also to verify that the rated corridor wall in the North Patient Wing Building, surrounding Nurse Station 104 (see plan), is 1-hour construction from floor to bottom of 1-hour grid and that all openings are protected with appropriate listed fire / smoke assemblies. The North Patient Wing is allready classified as an "I3" occupancy under the UBC. drs
