Description
Pre-engineered dry chemical system for spray paint booth.

Note: The dry chemical system does not remove the requirement for fire sprinklers in the spray paint booth, if the building is to be considered a fully sprinklered building. Fire sprinklers are still required. (Ref: NFPA 13: 4.1 and 22.4)

Todays inspection request was a conference to discuss the classI electrical at the door to the paint booth. The contractor is to meet the 3' vertical and 5' horizontal requirement for the class I wiring. Also per Scott and my discussion the owner is to provide signage at both sides of the overhead doors (no smoking, no welding, no grinding..ect.) instead of meeting the 6' clearance requirement from exterior walls. The 6' requirement can't be met due to meeting the 30' from property line requirement. All references are derived from the 2012 IFC chapter 24.
