[Treasure Valley Hospital - Phase 2 Addition]
The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of running a new main through the existing building to the new addition. The new addition system has a tree type layout with a 2½” main and 1¼” branch lines.

The fire sprinkler system is used for Occupancy and for building area increase. The building shell of the 13,921 square foot addition and the 3-hr fire wall to separate Type I-B construction from V-B construction was constructed under permit BLD17-00359. Interior demolition work within selective existing areas is also covered under this permit. To construct interior improvements within a new building shell addition and to remodel other selective areas of both existing buildings. Work is to include 1-hr smoke barrier walls to create smoke compartments, smoke partitions to create care suites, smoke partitions to create I-2 rated corridors, 1-hr fire barrier walls to separate incidental use areas from the rest of the building, interior nonbearing walls, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, a new exterior trash enclosure, exterior brick veneer, EIFS, a grease trap, medical gas piping system, etc. Two new operating rooms, 13 new extended stay private recovery rooms with toilet/shower rooms (two of which are accessible to the disabled) within the addition, 2 new extended stay private recovery rooms with toilet rooms that are not accessible to the disabled within the existing hospital, 9 single user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled, a multi-user Men’s restroom and a multi-user Women’s toilet room accessible to the disabled, a new sterile processing area, a kitchen with a Type I grease hood and duct system, an A-2 Occupancy dining room, laundry facilities, enlarged staff locker rooms, storage areas, etc. will be created. Special Inspection is required for fire stopping, EIFS, and for spray applied fire proofing. This permit is intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for the 13,921 square foot hospital expansion area, the 10,694 square foot area in the South office building (the existing 2,806 square foot tenant space is not part of this project), and various remodeled areas within the existing hospital. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 (including quick response sprinkler heads where required) and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**

The rough-in for the piping as marked on the plans is passed. Piping can not be covered yet until I have verification that the fire proofing has been repaired or does not need repaired as discussed.

The piping for the connecting corridor from the MOB to the existing hospital is complete and active. It needs to remain active since it will be in use for the hospital.
