Description
The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protecting a group II hanger using a wet system. The following exception from IFC must be strictly adhered to since this will not be a foam system as required by NFPA 409. Extra hazard II design has been used per NFPA 13. There are two risers supplied by a new 8” underground and new 8” back flow preventer. One 6” riser for the existing hangar and one 8” riser for the new hangar. Since there is not a 3-hour separation between the hangars, they shall be treated as one fire area.

IFC: 914.8.2 - Exception: When a fixed base operator has separate repair facilities on site, Group II hangars operated by a fixed base operator used for storage of transient aircraft only shall have a fire suppression system, but the system shall be exempt from foam requirements.

The fire protection underground is under permit FIR13-00460
