SimplexGrinnell will supply the equipment necessary for a design-build fire alarm system per State & Boise Fire Department requirements. The system design is based around a Simplex 41OOES network voice evacuation system with (1) Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) located in the Fire Command Center on 1st Floor with (1) Transponder located in the 4th Floor Helix area, both panels equipped with integrated Voice Evacuation system. A Transponder panel located on the Underground Parking Garage will be tie to the new FACP (the Underground Parking Fire Alarm System was approved under FIR13-00178).
This submittal includes manual pull station, smoke detectors above the panels and for elevator recall functions, heat detectors, duct detectors for HVAC shutdown/monitoring, in-duct detectors for f/s damper shutdown/monitoring, full notification coverage for voice evacuation, sprinkler system monitoring, fire pump monitoring, heat tape monitoring, and elevator recall/shunt trip functions.

Continuation of fire alarm system testing, including test of two (2) PIVs, two (2) BFP devices - both valves, and a random etst of other fire sprinkler risers and sectional control valves. All tested OK.
Started FSD test of in-duct SDs to ensure shutdown of FSDs for the parking level, 1st floor kitchen and lobby and 2nd floor lobby areas. All tested OK, except for one unit in the garage that needs to be retested. More FSDs need to be tested on the upper floors including rooftop HVAV duct detectors.

Initial fire alarm system testing, including test of notification (speaker/strobes) throuout the JUMP bldg. including the U/G parking garage the above ground parking garage, the helix and all rooms above grade. A few devices were not very load, and the contractor agreed to modify the devices in these areas to improve audibility.
Also tested fire pump functions to coincide with the fire pump commissioning test. Also tested one (1) H&D system test for the 1st floor kitchen.
NOTE: Elevators, HVAC, and FSDs not ready for test yet.

Test included functional testing for all fire sprinkler systems (wet and dry) for all levels, and stairwells, including wet pipe water flows, dry pipe trip tests, low-air alarms, waterflows, tampers, etc. All systems tested OK. Some alarm descriptions need to be revised to reflect a better location of some of the systems. Simplex to make these changes, and wil confirm at the next inspection.
