The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of providing protection for a 3 level multi family dwelling. There are three building separated by firewalls. The buildings are adjoining. Two of the buildings are protected using NFPA 13R. The southeast building is protected using NFPA 13. There is a class 1 standpipe on the intermediate floor landing with one roof outlet. Each level has floor level control valves. The majority of the building above grade levels utilize residential sprinklers.

The parking garage is under permit FIR14-00478

BLD14-01937 West Sherwood Apartments - Building 1 - To construct a 41,670 square foot, three story, wood framed apartment building. This building contains 57 living units. This building is being constructed on a three-hour fire-resistive concrete podium above a one-story concrete parking garage building. This apartment building is being divided into three buildings by two firewalls. This building is being sprinklered with an NFPA 13R system

Fire sprinklers for the entire project have been tested with fire alarm interface. Inspection with final walk through needs to be conducted prior to final sign-off, including obtaining ROCs. Systems are to remain in service from this point on.

Test/inspection of all fire sprinkler systems (dry and wet) and interface with fire alarm system, including tampers, waterflows, low-air f/ dry system, sectional control valves, and a trip test of the dry pipe valve protecting the parking garage.
All devices tested OK and within time requirements, except the dry pipe valve that only delivered water within 90 seconds trip test. Therefore an accelerator device will be required on this system to get below the 60 second time requirement.
