(STOR-IT SELF STORAGE – BUILDING #2) (DRH17-00528) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase, for fire area, and for fire flow. To construct a new 81,165 square foot, 2 story self-storage building. The 1st story will have a total floor area of about 41,270 square feet with 150 individual self-storage units (4 less than 25 square feet, 6 between 26 square feet and 50 square feet, 55 between 51 and 100 square feet, 84 between 101 square feet and 150 square feet, 16 between 151 square feet and 200 square feet, and 40 between 201 square feet and 300 square feet). The 2nd story will have a total floor area of about 39,895 square feet with 360 individual self-storage units (21 less than 25 square feet, 140 between 26 square feet and 50 square feet, 150 between 51 square feet and 100 square feet, 48 between 101 square feet and 150 square feet, and 1 between 151 square feet and 200 square feet). Thirteen (13) self-storage units on the 1st story will be accessible to the disabled (9 at 142 square feet each and 4 at 93 square feet each). Seventeen (17) self-storage units on the 2nd story will be accessible to the disabled (3 at 142 square feet each, 11 at 93 square feet each, and 3 at 70 square feet each). This building is one of five buildings on this site. Work is to include concrete footings; minimum 4” thick concrete slab on grade thickened at roll-up doors, bearing walls, and exterior walls; concrete slabs on grade at loading docks; steel stud bearing and shear walls; steel shear panels; post-installed anchors in hardened concrete; steel pan deck with 4.5 inch concrete fill for the 2nd story floor; two 1-hr stairway enclosures with a steel stairways inside each; two elevators with elevator machine rooms and concrete elevator pits; steel columns for elevator framing; exterior windows on the 2nd story; non-rated corridors on both stories; steel exterior siding; steel roof purlins; steel box headers at doors; steel beams; steel strap roof braces; steel drag struts; steel roof panels; metal gutters; exterior side-hinged swinging doors; and roll-up doors. Special Inspection is required for soils, for concrete, for structural steel (including welding and bolting), and for post-installed anchors in hardened concrete. About 24,309 square feet on the 1st story and the entire 39,895 square foot 2nd story of this building will be conditioned and is required to have a thermal envelope in compliance with the 2015 IECC. About 16,961 square feet of the 1st story will NOT be conditioned or have a thermal envelope. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
