(LA POINTE - FORMERLY CALLED BOISE HEIGHTS APARTMENTS) Fire sprinklers used for area increase, story increase, and for fire area. To construct a 5 story garage and residential apartment building (one story garage at grade and 4 stories of residential apartments above). The 1st story was constructed under early start permit BLD14-00377. The garage and adjacent areas will have a total floor area of about 72,725 square feet and will be of Type I-A construction. An office area will also be located on the 1st story next to the garage and will have a floor area of about 2,448 square feet. It will be of Type V-A construction and will be separated from the garage by a 3-hr fire wall. A 3-hr horizontal assembly will separate the garage from the apartment building above. Each story of the apartment building will have a total floor area of about 42,646 square feet. A 2-hr fire wall will separate the apartment building into 2 “buildings” for building area reasons and to provide a horizontal exit. There will be a total of 131 apartment units (36 four bedroom units, 4 three bedroom units, 90 two bedroom units, and 1 one bedroom/model unit). There will be a total of 337 bedrooms. All apartment units are required to comply as Type B dwelling units. Three apartment units are required to comply as Type A dwelling units. A 1,187 square foot fitness building will also be constructed above the garage under this permit. It will have a 732 square foot exercise room. A 2,235 square foot elevated pool deck will be constructed next to the fitness building. Required Special Inspections include soils, concrete reinforcing steel including prestressing tendons, concrete, welding, masonry, spray applied fire-proofing, and wood shear walls. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, with the structural design, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**

Final fire and life satey inspection for Tower 4 portion of the building, including the east side parking garage. Tested exit signs and emergency lights for these areas. A few exit signs were added to improve locations of exits in the garage. EM lighting tested OK.
EVAC plans were installed in all units for this portion of the building. Fire extinguisers are installed. Fire sprinklers and fire alarm systems have been finaled. Areas of Refuge call systems(all elevators) were tested and all answered by lobby staff, or by monitoring company.

All stairwell doors and unit doors opening into the fire rated corridors for these two towers (all floors) need to be maintained closed and latched, in order to maintain the integrity of the corridor. GC talked to security to help maintain. Inspection of units for Tower 4 not completed yet.

Fire life-safety inspection was called in for Tower 3 portion of the building, however for use and access to Tower 3 units, residents would have to have egress through Tower 4 corrdior to access th e southeast stairway. Tower 4 corridor is not complete yet, as most unit doors, which are fire/smoke assemblies, do not have their door hardware installed. Therefore Tower 4 corrdior is not complete, and Tower 3 units cannot be used until it is completed.
