[ICCU Overland Storage Building]
The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of replacing and existing fire sprinkler system with a new system starting at an underground connection. New 6”x60’± C-900 underground piping with associated fittings and thrust blocks. The underground supplies a new 4” backflow preventer and riser to a new grid type layout with 4”x4”x 1½” piping. The storage is furniture less than 12’ high.

Permit is to convert an existing 19,760 sq. ft. retail store into a storage warehouse building for furniture, promotional products, and office supplies. The prior tenant was Regency Carpet Barn under permit BLD08-01632. A northern portion of the building will be demolished to reduce the total tenant area of the warehouse to 14,460 sq. ft. This building is fully Fire Sprinklered with an approved Fire Alarm system. Work to include: new asphalt parking lot, site work, new exterior finishes/roof, exterior doors, electrical work, plumbing work, mechanical work and interior finishes in compliance with Ch. 8 of the current IBC. A reduction to the occupant load for plumbing fixture counts has been approved by the building official. An occupant load of 15 shall be posted at the front entrance. Racking that exceeds 8 ft. in height requires a separate Building Permit. Any alterations or modifications to the building’s Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm system WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE PERMIT as regulated by the Boise Fire Department. **JHB**

This project includes approved code alternates to the following fire protection systems and/or building life safety systems. Please review the supplemental documents attached to this building permit case for details. Fire protection “shop drawings” shall include approved code alternate design.

• There are no AMM at this time that pertain to the fire sprinklers.

A second curb valve was installed after SUEZ valve to accomplish underground hydrostatic test, underground held 200psi for 2 hours as required by NFPA 13.

The portion of the supply piping near the Suez connection point is not buried deep enough and will need to be modified and re-inspected. After the second 45 degree elbow the piping is deep enough and can be buried.
