ALPHONSUS MEDICAL GROUP – EMERALD MEDICAL OUTPATIENT CLINIC REMODEL) (7-19-18 PLAN MODIFICATION TO RECONFIGURE THE LARGE AND THE SMALL RECEPTION AREAS, DELETE SOME NONBEARING WALLS, AND INSTALL SOME SHELVES. A PORTION OF EACH SERVICE COUNTER IS REQUIRED TO BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE DISABLED WITH THE COUNTER SURFACE 36 INCHES MAXIMUM ABOVE THE FLOOR.) This building does not have a fire sprinkler system. To remodel portions of the 1st story of an existing 9,490 square foot one story with basement building. The 2,867 square foot basement is not part of the remodel area. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, new suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, two single-user toilet rooms upgraded to be accessible to the disabled, a new single-user toilet room accessible to the disabled, interior doors, millwork, and finishes. A new shear wall with hold downs will be installed to compensate for the reduced capacity of an existing shear wall. Special Inspection is required for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. This is a medical outpatient clinic where no one will be incapable of self-preservation. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department as a new system. A separate fire alarm permit shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such system. **CJW**
