(UNITEK COLLEGE – PRIVATE NURSING SCHOOL – ENTIRE 2ND STORY) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase, for fire area, for fire flow, and to substitute for 1-hr rated corridors. Unless already provided, quick-response fire sprinkler heads are required to be installed throughout the entire 2nd story. To remodel the entire 25,039 square foot 2nd story of an existing two-story building for a new nursing school that will occupy the entire 2nd story (24,158 square feet without shafts and stairways included). Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior glass windows, interior one-way glass windows, interior doors, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board soffits, millwork, and finishes. The existing toilet rooms are required to be maintained accessible to the disabled in compliance with the codes in effect when they were created. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 (including quick-response sprinkler heads unless already installed) and the fire alarm system (horns and strobes) is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
