The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of a new building on the existing campus of Fairmont Jr. High. The new building is completely independent, and not connected to the existing school structure. It will have a Gym, Locker Rooms, Common Areas, and a Kitchen.

Permit to construct a new 28,750 square foot gymnasium, locker rooms, and cafeteria with associated support areas including restrooms, kitchen associated office, storage, and mechanical rooms on the existing Fairmont Jr. High campus. Work also includes general site work. Special inspections required per attached Form 310. All work per the approved plans and notations. This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase and is fully alarmed. JAR

This project includes approved code alternates to the following fire protection systems and/or building life safety systems. Please review the supplemental documents attached to this building permit case for details. Fire protection “shop drawings” shall include approved code alternate design.

Inspection was for all piping to the south of the dividing doors between the Cafeteria and Gym. Hydro test failed due to missing sprinkler heads, also piping size for the amount of heads at the south end of the corridor does not match plans. Two additional 90's and additional piping needs to be added to the Gym area hydraulic calculation.

Hydro test held pressure but I found out not all piping has been cut/installed and the general contractor stated there was a leak in the Gym. Hydro will need to be redone. Rough-in passed for the Kitchen/Office/Dish Washing area and piping can be covered.

See the city approved plans for locations in the south side of building where sprinkler piping can be covered. I also looked at the overhead sprinkler piping in the Kitchen/Cooler area. Another rough-in inspection will be needed for cover when the T-bar and pendants in this area have been installed. Right now it is just the supply piping at the roof deck.
